The canvas, not the features
Facial width-to-height ratio compares total facial height against bizygomatic width. It is the single most global measurement in the set: it says nothing about any individual feature and everything about the canvas they sit on. Two faces with identical eyes, nose and mouth can read very differently depending on this proportion alone.
Height over cheekbone width
The app divides facial height by cheekbone width, referencing 1.201 for men and 1.164 for women — women scoring toward a slightly shorter, wider proportion relative to men. Because it depends on the outer face oval rather than fine internal landmarks, it is among the most stable metrics between scans.
Interpretive rather than actionable
Eight per cent of the composite depends on a proportion that is close to immovable — no non-surgical intervention meaningfully changes the ratio of facial height to skull width. Its practical value is interpretive: a long face explains low scores on several proportion metrics at once, and understanding that is more useful than trying to change it.

Common questions about facial width-to-height ratio
Can facial width-to-height ratio be changed?
Essentially no. It is set by skull proportions. Reducing facial fat sharpens the perceived outline slightly but does not change the underlying ratio.
Is this the same as the fWHR used in psychology research?
No, and the difference matters. Published fWHR work usually measures bizygomatic width against the distance from brow to upper lip. MogTracker uses total facial height, so the numbers are not interchangeable with figures from that literature.
